Dappling

Terms of Service

The agreement between you and Dappling when you use the app. Please read it before you sign up.

Last updated 11 September 2026

1. Who we are

Dappling is an app that helps two people in a relationship share their days: plans, tasks, lists, notes, photos and small gestures. Dappling is operated by Sumit Sharma, an individual developer based in India (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at teamdappling@gmail.com.

By creating an account or using Dappling, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.

2. Who can use Dappling

You must be at least 18 years old to use Dappling. By using the app, you confirm that you are, and that you can legally enter into this agreement.

3. Your account

  • Sign up with a name, a working email address and a password.
  • Keep your password private. You’re responsible for what happens under your account.
  • Tell us straight away at teamdappling@gmail.com if you think someone else has access to your account.
  • Each account is for one person. Don’t share accounts or sign up on someone else’s behalf.

4. Connecting with a partner

Dappling is built for two. When you connect with a partner using an invite code, the things you add to shared spaces (such as plans, tasks, lists, notes, Moments and love stamps) become visible to them, and theirs to you.

  • Only connect with someone you trust and who wants to connect with you.
  • Invite codes are temporary. Don’t post them publicly.
  • Whatever your partner has already seen, they may remember or screenshot. Deleting something in the app can’t undo that.

5. Your content

You own what you create in Dappling: your plans, notes, lists, captions and photos (“your content”).

To run the app, you give us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to store, process, resize and display your content, only so we can provide Dappling to you and your partner. This permission ends when your content or your account is deleted, apart from backups that are cleared on a normal cycle.

You’re responsible for your content. Only share photos you have the right to share, and don’t share images of other people without their consent.

6. Acceptable use

When using Dappling, don’t:

  • break any law, or help anyone else do so
  • harass, threaten, stalk or monitor another person without their consent
  • share content that sexualises minors, promotes violence or hatred, or violates someone’s privacy or intellectual property
  • upload malware, or try to break, overload or get around the security or usage limits of the app
  • copy, scrape, reverse engineer or resell the app or its content, except where the law allows it
  • impersonate someone or misrepresent who you are

We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.

7. Suggestions and insights

Some features, such as Insights and gentle nudges, give automated suggestions based on how your day is planned. They’re meant to be helpful, not authoritative. They are not medical, psychological, relationship or professional advice, and you decide what to do with them.

8. Limits and availability

  • Some features have fair-use limits, such as the number or size of photos you can share in a day. The app shows these limits when they apply.
  • Dappling is under active development. We may add, change or remove features, and we can’t promise the app will always be available or free of errors.
  • The app may rely on your device’s permissions (camera, photos, notifications). If you turn these off, some features won’t work.

9. Ending things

  • You can stop using Dappling at any time, and delete your account in the app under Profile → Delete account.
  • We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms, puts other people at risk, or where the law requires it. Where it’s reasonable, we’ll tell you why.
  • If we ever shut Dappling down, we’ll try to give you reasonable notice first.

10. Disclaimers

Dappling is provided “as is” and “as available”. As far as the law allows, we make no promises beyond those written in these Terms, including about the app being uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose.

11. Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of Dappling. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can’t be limited under applicable law, including your rights as a consumer.

12. Indemnity

If someone brings a claim against us because of content you shared or because you broke these Terms, you agree to cover the reasonable costs of that claim, to the extent the law allows.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as Dappling grows. If we make a meaningful change, we’ll let you know in the app or by email before it takes effect. The date at the top of this page always shows the latest version. If you keep using Dappling after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be handled by the competent courts in India, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.

15. Grievances and contact

If you have a complaint about content, your account or these Terms, contact our Grievance Officer:

We’ll acknowledge your complaint and try to resolve it within the time the law requires.
